The Fairbanks Area Surface Transportation Planning committee will review several major road and trail projects at a public meeting May 6 from noon to 2 p.m.

The technical committee will consider alternatives for the third stage of the Chena Riverwalk project and select which road improvements to fund in 2027. The meeting is open to the public.

Agenda items include safety projects on Airport Way, College Road and Badger Road. The committee will also review how to split federal transit funding and approve the planning work program for 2027-28.

The meeting will be held at the FAST Planning office in the KeyBank Building, 100 Cushman Street, Suite 215. People can also attend online at www.fastplanning.us/keepup/zoom.

FAST Planning coordinates transportation projects for the Fairbanks area. The technical committee includes staff from the state Department of Transportation, the borough and local transit agencies.
