ConocoPhillips Alaska is asking the state to renew a road easement on the North Slope and allow upgrades including 13,500 cubic yards of new gravel and expanded culverts. The public comment period closes at 4:30 p.m. on May 6, 2026.

The project would widen curves and narrow sections on an existing gravel road connecting the DS-2P site to the Spine Road, located about 10 miles east of the Colville River. The upgrades are designed to safely transport larger equipment and modules for the Willow Development project. Work is scheduled to begin May 15, 2026.

The Alaska Department of Natural Resources' Division of Oil and Gas is reviewing the easement renewal application, which was submitted March 27. The project includes replacing or expanding 11 culverts along the route.

Anyone who submits written comments will receive a copy of the final decision. People affected by the decision may appeal or request reconsideration under state regulations.
