Anchorage Water and Wastewater Utility has applied for a 200-foot easement to relocate force mains beneath Campbell Creek using horizontal directional drilling. The state Department of Natural Resources is accepting public comments on the proposal through June 1, 2026.

The utility wants to move a section of existing water infrastructure on state land in Section 15, Township 12 North, Range 4 West, near Anchorage. The proposed easement would cover about 0.28 acres, measuring 200 feet long and 60 feet wide. The utility is requesting an indefinite term for the easement.

The Division of Mining, Land and Water will review public input before deciding whether to approve the easement. The agency may modify the proposal or add conditions during the review process.

Written comments must be received by June 1 at the Southcentral Regional Land Office, 550 West 7th Avenue, Suite 900C, Anchorage, AK 99501.
