The Railbelt Transmission Organization will hold a closed committee meeting on Wednesday, April 15, at 8 AM to discuss technical aspects of Alaska's power grid.

The meeting is not open to the public, according to the organization's bylaws. Only subcommittee members will participate in the teleconference at the Alaska Energy Authority offices in Anchorage.

The Railbelt Transmission Organization oversees the electrical grid that serves Anchorage, Fairbanks, and communities in between. The technical subcommittee can only make recommendations to the organization's governing board and cannot establish policies on its own.

Unlike subcommittee meetings, the organization's main governance committee meetings are open to the public under the group's bylaws. Those meetings are where final decisions about grid operations and policies are made.

The Alaska Energy Authority is hosting the teleconference at 813 West Northern Lights Boulevard in Anchorage. No public comment period is scheduled for this meeting.
