The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is accepting public comments through April 29 on a placer mining application for Glenn Gulch and Flint Creek near Ruby. Global Karma Metals Consultancy and Tintina Gold Company applied for permits to operate a mechanical placer mine in the Ruby Mining District.

The proposed operation would run from the date permits are issued through December 31, 2035. The mining would occur on state lands in sections of Township 12 South, Ranges 17 and 18 East, Kateel Meridian. The application includes requests for a plan of operations approval, reclamation plan approval, and authorization for cross-country travel on state lands.

Written comments must reach the Division of Mining, Land and Water by 5:00 p.m. Alaska Standard Time on April 29, 2026. Comments can be submitted by mail to 3700 Airport Way, Fairbanks, Alaska 99709, or by email to [email protected].

The department will review all comments before deciding whether to issue permits. The agency may approve the application with conditions or require modifications to the mining plan.
