The Alaska Department of Natural Resources is accepting public comments through May 11 on a proposal to eliminate lot boundaries and replat land near Port Ashton in the Valdez Recording District.

Randy Talvi of ViTal Investments, LLC, has petitioned to eliminate boundaries between three lots to create the Port Ashton Legacy Lots subdivision. The proposal would combine Lot 1 of the Port Ashton Cabin Lots and Lots 2A and 2B of the Port Ashton Recreational Lots. The parcels are located in Section 27, Township 1 South, Range 8 East, Seward Meridian.

The department will hold a public hearing by teleconference at 11:00 a.m. on May 13. Residents can join by calling 1-800-315-6338 and entering access code 98627.

Written comments must be submitted by 5:00 p.m. on May 11 to be considered. Comments can be emailed to [email protected] or mailed to Louanne Lamas, Division of Mining, Land and Water, 550 W. 7th Ave., Suite 650, Anchorage, AK 99501.

Under state law, anyone wishing to appeal the decision must participate in the comment process either in writing or at the public hearing.
