The Alaska Department of Health is seeking information from organizations that could run a statewide certification program for peer support specialists. The Division of Behavioral Health wants to know who might be able to administer and improve the program, which certifies people with lived experience in mental health or substance use recovery to support others.

Responses are due April 21 at 2:00 p.m. Alaska time.

Peer support specialists use their own recovery experiences to help others navigate behavioral health challenges. The state is looking for qualified parties capable of handling ongoing administration and enhancement of the certification program.

This request for information does not commit the state to issuing a contract or purchasing services. The department is gathering information about potential vendors and their capabilities.
