Redoubt Refuse, LLC has applied for a state certificate to provide residential trash collection in the central Kenai Peninsula. The Regulatory Commission of Alaska opened a docket April 24 to review the application.

The public can comment on the proposal through 5 p.m. May 19. Comments must be filed with the commission at 701 West 8th Avenue, Suite 300, Anchorage, or online at the commission's website.

Anyone who wants to compete for the same service area must file a notice of intent by May 28. A competing application would be due July 27. If no one files a competing notice by the May 28 deadline, the commission will decide whether to grant or deny Redoubt's application under state utility law.

The commission has not yet determined whether the application is complete. That review may be finished by May 15.
