Palmer meeting set for Glenn Highway safety project feedback

The Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities will hold its second public meeting June 3, 2026 to gather input on the Glenn Highway: Arctic Avenue to Palmer-Fishhook Road Safety and Capacity Improvements project.

The meeting runs from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Palmer Train Depot, 610 S. Valley Way. A presentation starts at 5:15 p.m.

DOT&PF wants residents to weigh in on the draft purpose and need for the project, design options for intersections, and plans for non-motorized pathways. The project team will accept public comments through July 3, 2026.

People who cannot attend the meeting in person can submit comments through the project website at glennarctic2palmerfishhook.com or by email at [email protected]. The project team can also be reached by phone at 907-268-3015.

The public comment period opens June 3, 2026 and closes July 3, 2026. Comments submitted during that window will help shape the final design for the highway improvements.
