Kenai health office closed May 7 due to plumbing problems

The Alaska Department of Health office at 630 Barnacle Way #A in Kenai will close May 7 because of plumbing issues, according to a state announcement.

State officials did not specify when the office would reopen or provide details about the plumbing problems.

Employees who can work remotely should continue their duties unless their supervisors direct otherwise, the announcement said. Workers in jobs that protect public health and safety must report to work as usual unless they have approved leave.

Those required positions include certain staff in the Departments of Public Safety, Corrections, and Family and Community Services, along with other services that operate around the clock.

The state will post updates throughout the day at www.alaska.gov. Employees must check the website regularly for new information about the closure.

The announcement came from the Alaska Department of Transportation and Public Facilities, which manages state facilities.
