The Alaska Marine Highway Operations Board will accept public comments on the ferry system's budget and operations during a meeting April 24 in Juneau.

The board will review the annual financial report and discuss budget recommendations for fiscal year 2027. Members also will hear updates on fleet infrastructure, workforce issues, and a high-efficiency commuter ferry project.

Public comment periods are scheduled from 9:40 to 9:55 a.m. and 3:30 to 3:45 p.m. Alaska time. People can attend in person at the Department of Transportation building at 3132 Channel Drive in Juneau or join online.

Written comments must be submitted by 9 a.m. April 24 to [email protected] to be included in meeting materials. People who want to speak can sign up during the meeting.

The board also will receive a briefing on federal funding from Senator Lisa Murkowski's office and elect new officers. Chair Ayers will lead the session, which runs from 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
